WHERE THE BREED CAME FROM
Pomeranians descend from one of the ancient lines of domesticated dogs the Spitz. Spitz-Type dogs were associated with hunter gatherers at least 6,000 years ago. The Spitz retained many of the traits that helped their ancestors survive in cold climates. These traits include a Thick ,weather resident Coat for warmth, Small Furry Ears less susceptible to heat loss and frostbite and a Bushy Tail to cover the nose when sleeping.
